SPRAYER / CUSTOM OPERATOR - COBDEN
(SEASONAL)


The Sprayer/ Custom Operator will promote the proper use of crop protection products.

Employment Type: Seasonal (April-October)

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Cobden, ON

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 / hour – based on qualifications and experience

Sprayer/ Custom Operator


  • Experience operating a high clearance (crop) sprayer or floater;
  • Basic understanding of agricultural chemicals;
  • Provide high quality, intricate and detailed custom application services for growers with a high clearance sprayer or floater;
  • Apply fertilizer and crop protection products;
  • Maintain fertilizer spreading and crop protection spraying logs;
  • Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Educate customers on products being applied to fields, techniques utilized, and how you can continue to support them with products and services;
  • Assist the sales staff in ensuring orders are correct and customer needs are met;
  • Perform warehouse work including driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and general maintenance (equipment, spreaders, etc.);
  • Lift & load up to 75lbs packages of Crop Protection products;
  • Pick up and deliver product to customers as needed;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
  • Work additional hours to meet business demands.
 

Health and Safety


  • Operate only equipment and machinery for which training has been received, in a safe and effective manner;
  • Report any equipment malfunctions immediately to the Supervisor, having secured the equipment;
  • Wear personal protective equipment as approved;
  • Comply with all Company Health and Safety Policies;
  • Must have a strong sense of the need for safe and healthy work environment.
 

Customer Service


  • Provide exceptional and courteous customer service.


Required Education and Qualifications


  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License
  • Agricultural exterminators License
  • Forklift certification and experience in operating this equipment would be an asset
